US Route 666?
#1
So according to Wikipedia, the Four Corners highway US 491 that I've driven on quite a few times used to be US 666. Nasty rumors denominated it though. There are still signs of Route 666, though. But you know, this route is now known as the Devil's Highway, with an abnormal fatality rate.

It was the sixth spur of Historic 66, so they named it US 666.

Yes I know all the Route 666's. PA 666 goes through Allegheny Forest. People like even now to pose in front of the Route 666 sign. This is the most major Highway 666 in the US, too bad US 666 was denominated. And it was recent - 2003. I guess having it called US 491 was better than calling 200 miles of road US 666.
