Concerning the Future of Ultimate Driving - Tyler - 02-02-2025
Hello!
For those of you within our Discord server keeping up with announcements you are already aware that Alex has made the decision to sunset Ultimate Driving. Ultimate Driving is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, and the longest running driving game within Roblox and was arguably the pioneer for the genre of modern day driving games on the platform.
With this being said, Ultimate Driving will no longer be receiving any major updates. However, the current state of the game and the data backend will be maintained to keep the game playable and enjoyable for those still wishing to play. This is not a decision that has been made lightly and Alex has wrestled with coming to this decision for a long time now.
With this being said, those currently banned from the game can experience a delay of response for any ban appeals that may occur and an answer is not guaranteed at this point.
In terms of the future, there have been discussions on a possible vault of in-development maps and old maps - but this is not a guarantee. Please do not pester Alex or the staff members regarding this. The Discord server will remain open.
Ultimate Driving has been a major part of many lives - both inside the staff team and for the regular players. Within the Roblox platform it was a major contender, trend setter, and standard setter for driving games and has had its ups and downs as any game on the platform has.
On behalf of Alex and the rest of the team, we all thank all of you for partaking in helping make Ultimate Driving what it is today and helping keep its longevity. Ultimately, the game could not have been called "Ultimate" Driving without having the ultimate community we have and you guys made up as big of a part of the game as Alex and the staff team did.

Will full development ever continue on Ultimate Driving?
- At this time, the only plans are to keep it functional in its current state.
Will Ultimate Driving be sold?
- No, at this time there are no plans to sell the game.
Will development continue on future maps?
- No, Ultimate Driving is being sunset and no further major updates will occur.
Will there be an Ultimate Driving 2?
- In having discussions with Alex, he has not talked about developing a 2nd driving game that is in any relation to Ultimate Driving at this point.
Can I have Ultimate Driving?
- No.
Can you have Ultimate Driving?
- I am being sunset with Ultimate Driving :')
How long will the Discord server be around?
- The Discord server probably will stick around so long as there are people willing to be in it and so long as existing staff members are willing to moderate it.
Will there be staff applications again?
- No, staff applications most likely will not open again for either the game or Discord.
What about ban appeals and player reports?
- Player reports will continue for the time being, albeit delayed, until the existing staff no longer wish to do it at which point they may end up being shuttered. Ban appeals, may or may not continue to be handled/decided on and responses are not guaranteed. There have been talks on doing a fresh slate wipe with bans and only keeping the exploitation bans in place but this has not been talked about recently. I'm sure we will make a decision on this sometime this year.
Does this mean I can use IP/assets from UD in my game without being punished now?!?!
- No. Even with Ultimate Driving sunsetting, assets stolen from Alex/UD still remain property of Alex/UD. This type of theft is not only against Roblox Terms of Service, but also can lead to legal action through court.
